9v9 Blended Grassroots Course: Virtual Meeting + In-Person Field Session

Virtual Meeting: Tuesday October 29, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

In-Person Field Session: Saturday November 2, 9:00 am-11am

Registration closes at 11:59 pm on October 15th, or when the course sells out, whichever occurs first.

Course Details:

The 9v9 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, coaches will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 11-12. The course will also ask each coach to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth in the Six Tasks (Coaching Games, Coaching Training Sessions, Leading the Team, Leading the Player, Managing the Performance Environment, and Leadership).

Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person must have access to a web-camera/live video capabilities. Coaches may be asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.

Eligibility Requirement:

In order to register for the 9v9 Blended Course, candidates must be at least 16 years old* and have completed U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module. This module can be accessed here.

*Due to online privacy laws, individuals under the age of 16 cannot create Learning Center (LC) profiles, and thus are unable to take Grassroots Courses.

*Candidates are responsible for providing players for this course.
