Course Details:
The National D License is an online and in-person course, that begins in October 2024 with an online experience and two in-person meetings.
Coaches who register for this course can expect weekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules and live virtual meetings led by a licensed U.S. Soccer Instructor. Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a web-camera/live video capabilities. The virtual meetings will take place on agreed upon days and times (see below). Coaches may be asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.
Candidates that register for this course are expected to attend all classroom webinars and course meetings to be eligible to receive the license.
Eligibility Requirements:
To register for the U.S. Soccer D Course, individuals must meet the following prerequisites:
- Is at least 18 years of age
- Completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching module
- Completed Two (2) Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11)
- Completed One (1) Grassroots Online (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
-or –
- Completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
- Previously Earned U.S. Soccer E License
-or –
- Completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
- Previously Earned U.S. Soccer F License
- Completed Two (2) Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, 9v9 or 11v11)
and
- Student Coaches must have access to a team (U7-U12) for the duration of the course
Course Structure:

· Coaches are expected to have access to a team/players in order to complete the assignments during the course
Virtual Period:
The Virtual Period is the time in between the pre-course meeting, the on-field component(s) and after the final field component. The Virtual Period will consist of weekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules, live virtual meetings led by a licensed U.S. Soccer Instructor and small group meetings that are organized by the coaches. Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a web-camera/live video capabilities.
The virtual meetings will take place agreed upon days and times that will be finalized during the pre-course meeting (each instructor group will establish their own meeting times). See below for more specifics on typical meeting days/times, as well as the date(s) for the in-person meeting.
NYSA 2024 National D License – Two in-person course meetings
October 14-December 20, 2024 – 9 consecutive weeks:
Virtual Meetings (webinars typically at least once a week and on occasion twice a week)
§ Times: TBA (typically chosen at 9:00am, 12 Noon, or 6:00pm (PST) based upon majority choice/availability of the course attendees)
On-Field Component 1 (In-person meeting #1)
· Date: November 9-10, 9am-4pm

Refund Policy
Full payment is required at the time of registration. Any cancellations after September 13, 2024 will forfeit 100% of their fees unless the candidate is replaced, then 50% less any non-refundable US Soccer fees are refundable. All fees are non-refundable once the course begins.
